The Smart Flashlight
The Smart Flashlight blinks and LED (light emitter diode) during a power failure
to help you locate it. A second switch turns the LED on to allow the user to find
auxiliary lights and his or her way. During daylight hours a photo resistor switches
the light off to conserve battery power.

Featured in the March 2002 issue of 'Poptronics' it's an ideal project for the new
comer to electronics or a high school science project. The board has been designed
with large traces to make the circuit robust for those just learning soldering skills. A
pleasant and useful project that's sure to bring a smile.

Smart Flashlight
The board for the Smart Flashlight is
high quality with a solder mask and
silk-screen. Like the Tach-Plus the
traces are extra wide, in this case
.050", which make it especially durable
for those learning soldering skills. No
traces run between the IC pins to keep
the  chance of shorts down.
It is an ideal, fun to build, beginner
project which will yield a functional and
useful circuit. Shown here are two boards.

Smart Flashlight in a finished case
The Smart Flashlight is shown built into
a 3" x 4" plastic case.The photo resistor and
the control switches are on top of the case
and the LED is shown lit. (This is just an
example. You do not have to build your project
into any special case or use our layout)
